Full course description
IN-PERSON COURSE for adults ages 50 and older!
This class will concentrate on the works of John Steinbeck that have been made into movies. One of America's greatest novelists never failed to explore the human condition. We will examine the cinematic adaptations of the Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men, East of Eden and Tortilla Flats. A close look at Henry Fonda as Tom Joad will be explored. Is the movie ever better than the book? Does the movie capture the author’s genius? Do the books reveal Steinbeck’s remarkable study of human nature? Let's discuss these lively topics!
