Full course description
IN-PERSON COURSE for adults ages 50 and older!
This class will concentrate on Pulitzer Prize winning fictional works that have been made into movies. America’s greatest novelists never failed to explore the human condition – we will explore the cinematic adaptations of “Gone with the Wind,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “The Good Earth,” “The Color Purple” and more. Then we’ll look at the cinematic performances of Henry Fonda, Clark Gable, Gregory Peck, Vivian Leigh and others. Is the movie ever better than the book? Does the movie capture the author’s genius? Let’s discuss these lively topics.
