In the early 60s, male singers populated the Billboard charts: Ray Charles, Jackie Wilson, Ben E. King, Sam Cooke, Jerry Butler, Little Anthony, Roy Orbison, and Bobby Darin. Listen to their hits and discover how these singers carried the banner of rock’n’roll in the years between the early rockers thru to Motown and the British Invasion, while laying the groundwork for Soul.
