Full course description
IN-PERSON COURSE for adults ages 50 and older!
Having lived a life of privilege in Philadelphia, Mary Cassatt made her life-long home in Paris beginning in 1868 when she was 23 years old. Being the only American painter of the French Impressionist movement, she created her own style in art and in life and was well respected by her fellow artists, such as Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, and Edgar Degas. Learn of her difficult relationship with Degas, and of her family, and her participation in supporting the Women's Movement. Observe local actress Stephanie Kramer, as she progresses through Miss Cassatt's life by portraying "the woman of the hour", as well as herself, the storyteller.
