Course
NEW! A History of Still Life: Objects in the Past and Present
Oct 8, 2026 - Oct 8, 2026
Full course description
Description
The art of still life goes back to the ancients. It was written that the ancient Greek painter Zeuxis could paint berries so accurately that birds would fly into them looking for a treat. The 17th century Dutch re-invented still life painting into a major art form. Artists such as Chardin, Cezanne, and Picasso all contributed to this direction in art which is often overlooked.
