Join Julie Koenig for an Afternoon Tea with the Spies. We discuss the contribution to the war efforts of two of the most famous women spies who conducted espionage, sabotage and reconnaissance in occupied Europe.
Violette Szabo was a courageous member of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) during World War II. Tragically, she was captured by the Germans during one of her missions and was later executed, becoming a symbol of sacrifice and heroism.
Nancy Wake, often described as “a real Australian bombshell,” was a nurse and journalist before joining the ranks of the SOE as a courier. Known for her fearless demeanor and quick wit, Nancy played an instrumental role in organizing resistance networks, sabotaging German operations.
