Nutrition tips for older adults.
This course covers nutrition recommendations for older adults based on the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Healthy People. It includes important topics such as macronutrient, mineral, and vitamin requirements, as well as specific nutritional advice for older adults. You will learn how to decrease risk factors for certain diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. Strategies for health promotion include identifying factors that contribute to overall nutrition such as eating habits, environmental factors, and genetics.
This course is recommended for adults ages 65 and older.
