Religious triumph in the art and architecture of 11th century Europe is the subject of this lecture. Cathedral building was in ascension as the knights of the Crusades and the pilgrimage traffic to holy Christian sites helped bring about a birth of the great European nations and cross-cultural interchange with the Middle East.
