IN-PERSON COURSE for adults ages 50 and older!
The late 1940s-early 1950s R&B: What was this music that descended from the Big Bands and was the predecessor to Rock and Roll? Listen to the R&B singers from this era: Big Joe Turner, Louis Jordan, Ruth Brown, Etta James. Learn about the stylistic elements that characterized early R&B, and listen to the songs that transitioned into Rock and Roll.
