The story of the most famous dynasty of kings and queens of England is told through the art of their time. The portrait paintings of Henry VIII, Jane Seymour, Thomas Moore, Mary I, Edward VI, and Elizabeth I by the famous artists Hans Holbein, Antonis Mor, and Nicholas Hilliard were created against a backdrop of religious strife, messy divorces, public beheadings, and international war. Sumptuous luxury objects, enthralling tapestries, suits of ornate armour, and resplendent palaces captured the fabulous wealth of this fascinating dynasty.
