Full course description

Description

Step back in time and experience powerful, personal stories from World War II as shared by storyteller Bev Stives. Drawing from her work hosting international exchange students and participating in more than 20 mission projects, Bev brings history to life through firsthand accounts and meaningful connections.

Participants will hear compelling stories—including the two highlighted below—and are warmly invited to share their own family histories and memories from the WWII era.

Dresden China:

Hear the story of a woman who was just 14 years old living in Dresden, Germany, during the devastating bombing of the city by Allied forces. Through her eyes, you’ll learn about her family’s experience, survival, and how the impact of that moment continues to shape her life today.

The Liberator Bomber:

Discover the remarkable journey of Georgeo Petribone, an Italian history teacher who stumbled upon the remains of an American bomber while hiking. His curiosity led him to uncover the aircraft’s history, learn how local villagers repurposed its parts, and ultimately connect with the families of the fallen crew.

Join us for an engaging and reflective experience as we honor history through storytelling, connection, and shared remembrance.
