Description
A hands-on technical training course to programming a surface mount technology (SMT) manufacturing line using Panasonic Data Generation System (DGS). Topics covered include overview of SMT manufacturing, soldering, and components, setting up pick & place hardware, programming parts data, programming bare board data, programming and simulating a recipe with focus on low takt time, and movement of program to SMT line. Hands-on coursework include operation, setup, and dialing in of the Panasonic NPM-W2 on an SMT line. Use of equipment with hot surfaces is required, all personal protective equipment will be worn during handling, we ask all trainees to wear pants and shoes for the duration of the training. Equipment contains strong electromagnets, those with pacemakers or other affected implantable biomedical devices are advised not to take this training course. A certificate of completion is provided to the trainee at completion through LCCC’s training institute MERIT – Manufacturing Electronics & Rework Institute for Training.
Intended Audience: It is requested that minimal prior SMT manufacturing experience is required with permission set by instructor. Intended to be include technical concepts strongly related to manufacturing engineering. An excellent professional development experience for new programmers and current SMT operators or technicians.
