Description
This course presents guidelines related to diet for student athletes during practice and competition. It includes: goals of nutrition before exercise, pre-exercise foods and fluids, hydration, protein needs, advantages and disadvantages of sports foods and beverages, and general nutrition tips for teen athletes. Parents will find this course helpful because it gives tips on how students' eating habits can be influenced outside the school environment. Specific examples are provided for foods to avoid and foods to encourage.
